Devlog 10/17/2021 - Adding new things from the dev part!

Hello guys!

Another week, another devlog update for our game!

Since we already talked about what's coming from the content part, we wanted to take some time and explain the eventual point system we will implement.

I know some of you already know what we're talking about, but for everyone else, here's a small explanation for the "Love Point System".

A Love Point System is essentially a system made to accumulate points throughout the story. Which kind of points exactly? Love points of course!

Love points will allow the player to open certain events with the love interests in order to deepen their relationship. This system allows us to make some flags and have the game decide if you're allowed to see certain events or not. This will also make the player make decisions based on what they want to see more of. This could mean that for example, if you want to see more from Alec, you should try to choose his events over Arty's or Sidney's. It could also mean that if you want to see all the possible events, you will have to replay the game, in order to have enough points for that particular character.

This might seem a bit arbitrary, but it makes sense from a character relationship point. After all, the more you talk with someone, the more you're bound to get close with each other, no? It wouldn't make much sense to have all 3 characters feel the same amount of affection or camaraderie if you had to split your schedule to fit all of them.

With this system we're also cementing that the game will have multiple endings. It was already obvious from the "having 3 love interests" part, but this also means we might have a couple of more endings if things go different than expected! For example, what would happen if you tried to go for a particular love interest, but you didn't spend enough time with him? Who knows? (For now we haven't decided yet).

We will implement this in the next update and you'll be able to see it a bit, although it might not do much just yet, since this will have effect on future events from future updates.

We hope you enjoy this new feature!

This is the basics for all romance visual novels but surprisingly there are some that still don't know this. Save often before choosing dialogue options, never always know which reply triggered what later o3o
