What's coming for the next update!


Hey guys!

It has been roughly a month since our original release for the game, and roughly 20 days since our last update. The purpose of this post is to let you guys know what we are preparing for the next update in the game, some decisions we made from the game design perspective, and a bit of insight of what's coming.

For starters, we would like to thank everyone that has given our project a shot, being the first release, or the updated demo, or even both! It has been encouraging for us to know there's interest in our little passion project, so we are trying to organize ourselves in order to bring you proper updates in a more timely manner.

So, what's coming for our project?

We're adding a couple of interesting things inside our next update in order to improve player experience:

  • We're looking to add a new system for the love interests that will allow the player to have more freedom in their choices. We do want the game to feel a bit more organic in terms of dialogue without forcing the user to choose a path they don't want to take at the time.
  • We're also looking for a way to make character sprites a bit more dynamic, so we can add new clothing for them. We don't want our characters dressed up in the same clothing all the time after all!
  • Finally we are seeking to implement certain things to add more flair and flavor to our game, namely things like sound effects, screen effects and sprite effects. The game right now delivers what it's meant to do but we want to improve the pacing a bit with these.

All of these will be included in some way in the next update. Of course we also want to have faster release dates so not everything will be implemented completely on the get go, but it's something that will improve with time.

As for release dates, if everyone goes well, we are aiming for a November release for the next patch! This should include the following day after the introduction with all the characters. This update will also introduce a couple of new recurring characters that you will see throughout the game, we hope you like them as much as we do!

To finish this post we are announcing that we'll be a bit more active both here and in our twitter (@FourWayJunction) to be more present during the development of our game. This will mean more interaction in social media and more frequent devlogs, so stay tuned for more info!

Sounds cool. Lemme know if you need any help with screen and sprite effects. I've been doing a number of them in Ren'py for a while so would be more than happy to offer coding advice if you want any. And feel free to use any of the ones I've put on my itch as well if you want. (Just provide credit if you do~)

YES!, yes, and yes! I certainly wouldn't want to commit to any of them without knowing them more first.  I also wouldn't want to be too neglectful of the others after I've made my choice.

That's right! We want to give the players the freedom to choose how the story develops.
